Team India and North Delhi Strikers pacer Harshit Rana gave a fiery send-off to West Delhi Lions' batter Ayush Doseja in the third over of the innings in the Delhi Premier League (DPL), provoking an official action against him. The right-arm pacer was fined ten per cent of his match fees for the send-off given to the left-handed batter.

Rana, who has landed in similar trouble before for his send-offs during the Indian Premier League (IPL), gestured Doseja to make his way back to the pavilion by pointing fingers. The gesture has been taken note of by the organisers, who haven't spared him.

The North Delhi Strikers' statement read as below:

"Harshit Rana admitted to the Level 1 Offence under Article 2.5 (Using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from another player in the Match) and accepted the Match Referee's sanction."

North Delhi Strikers' batter Yajas Sharma and West Delhi Lions batter Krish Yadav have also copped punishment for using obscene language heard on stump mic. All three accepted the sanctions imposed against him.

In response, Hrithik Shokeen blasted a 24-ball 51 but couldn't take the Lions past the finishing line. Deepanshu Gulia was the pick of the bowlers for the Lions, bagging figures of 4-0-44-3. Strikes and Lions are currently 3rd and 4th, respectively, in the points table.
