Ex-Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi responded to former Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan after the latter hit back at his repulsive comments about the Indian Army being responsible for the death of their own people. With Dhawan calling for Afridi to stop passing baseless comments on the Indian Army, the latter distastefully replied on his post saying 'Aao tumhe chai pilaata hoon'.

While speaking on a talk show in Pakistan, Afridi shockingly blamed the Indian Army for 26 tourists dying amid the recent terror attack in Pahalgam. With Pakistan's militant groups allegedly causing the attack, the 48-year-old's obnoxious remark of the army not being present at the right-time went viral.

Citing an article of the Times of India, Dhawan urged Afridi to concentrate on plotting the progress of their nation as Pakistan have already lost a couple of wars to India. In response, Afridi foolishly replied:

"Chouro jeet haar ko , aao tumhey chae pilata hun Shikhar.#Fantastictea" (Leave win-loss. Let me give you tea, Shikhar.)

The reference of #Fantastictea was in reference to Indian Air Force Pilot Abhinandan Varthaman, who was captured by Pakistani forces in 2019 when one of the planes were shot down by their Air Force. When one of the interrogators asked if he was enjoying his tea, Abhinandan said 'The tea is fantastic'.

Mumbai Indians and SunRisers Hyderabad paid tributes to the terror attack victims

A day after the terror attack, players of Mumbai Indians and SunRisers Hyderabad alongside the umpires and match officials observed a moment's silence over the victims losing their lives during the incident ahead of their IPL 2025 game. Additionally, the BCCI had announced that there will be no cheerleaders and fireworks for the match between the two sides.

A host of former and current Indian cricketers including Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Sachin Tendulkar, Anil Kumble, Suresh Raina and several others came forward to condemn the incident.
