Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) Instagram account has now accumulated the highest number of followers as far as IPL franchises go, crossing Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) tally of 17.7 million. The development emerged on March 31, Monday as RCB's reached 17.8 million on the social media platform, while Mumbai Indians' stands at 16.2 million.
The Royal Challengers, who are currently on top of the points table in IPL 2025, have begun their campaign in dreamy fashion, winning both their matches convincingly. Rajat Patidar and co. defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders by seven wickets and the Super Kings by 50 runs. The victory against the Super Kings was massive as they had defeated the Yellow Army in their backyard for the first time since 2008.
Their loyal fanbase also feel this could be the year that the Royal Challengers finally break their jinx of not winning the IPL title despite having had some high-quality players over the years. They also finished as the finalists three years in 2009, 2011 and 2016.
RCB to play their first home game against the Gujarat Titans
Meanwhile, the storied venue of the Chinnaswamy Stadium will host its first game of the season on April 2, Wednesday as the home side will take on the Gujarat Titans.
The Titans have looked as a lethal side, losing only by 11 runs to the Punjab Kings despite conceding 243 and beat the Mumbai Indians by 36 runs. With the Chinnaswamy Stadium known to produce high scores, one can expect a 200+ score from either sides.
