Tamil actor Santhanam received heavy backlash on social media after he shared a video of himself petting a tiger.
In the video, Santhanam can be seen sitting next to a tiger at a petting zoo and patting it. Not just that, but he even grabbed the animal's tail and fiddled with it, before another person poked the tiger on the head with a stick, causing it to react.
Santhanam captioned the video, "Is this how you grab the tail of a tiger?"
Santhanam slammed on social media
As soon as he posted the video, it spread on the internet like wildfire with netizens criticising the actor for his irresponsible behaviour.
The Twitterati slammed Santhanam and accused him of animal cruelty.
"There is surely no #tigerlove here. Annoying and cruel," a Supreme Court lawyer tweeted.
"Dude, this is not happening. You have tons of followers. Don’t do this and don’t post it please," another user wrote.
