According to the police, for the last few days, the accused usually parked their two-wheeler on the road in front of the complainant's home and sat in groups, causing inconvenience to residents.

On the day of the incident, the complainant was returning home after completing her work. Meanwhile, she asked them, instead of sitting in front of her house, to go and sit a little bit away. Furious, the accused threatened her and left the place. However, they returned shortly and damaged the vehicles parked in the lane.

Residents of Ekta Colony have reported that four goons came and broke the windows of vehicles with axes and stones. In this entire incident, a total of six four-wheelers, one rickshaw, and one two-wheeler were damaged.

Pawan Wankhede, a resident, expressed, “We don’t know the exact reason why they vandalised our vehicles. I had just parked my vehicle and gone home. Meanwhile, we heard a loud noise of vandalism on the vehicle. The accused fled before we came down. At least 7–8 vehicles were vandalised without any reason. Who is responsible for that?”

Mansingh Patil, Senior Police Inspector of Kalepadal Police Station, speaking to The Free Press Journal, said, “The main accused, Mahesh Manoj Kotwal, has been arrested, and others will be detained soon as they are minors. We are investigating the matter accordingly, and action will be taken.”

Regarding the matter, a case has been registered under Sections 75, 78, 324(5), 351(2), 352, and 3(5) of the BNS and Maharashtra Police Act, Sections 37(1)(3) and Section 7 of the Criminal Amendment Act.
