In good news for flyers at Pune Airport, the authorities have come up with a new baggage handling system. This system, being implemented by the airport authorities and the airlines' staff, aims to ensure that flyers' luggage arrives at the baggage carousel safely and without any wear and tear.

A video of this has gone viral on social media and is receiving praise. As seen in the video, as soon as bags came onto the carousel, an official used a rectangular shock absorber made of foam to block those from hitting the edges with force. Another official arranged the luggage properly so that flyers could easily pick it up without dashing against each other.
Sharing the video on X (formerly Twitter), a user wrote, "@aaipunairport @AAI_Official are doing their best to improve service. Here at Pune Airport this evening, employees are comforting the bags and reorienting them at the conveyor belt. I remember when it happens abroad, everyone applauds. Let's do it for our people."
"If we can admire good service abroad, we should celebrate it at home too. Small gestures by our own people deserve big applause," commented another user.
Meanwhile, Pune Airport Director Santosh Dhoke said that some airlines are doing it in coordination with the airport authorities. "The idea is to ensure that the luggage of flyers remains safe. We are still working on it, and it will be enhanced in other ways shortly," he added.
