In a bizarre turn of events, a man in Pune was beaten up by a group of people after he allegedly filmed a video of the genitals of a person urinating beside him in a toilet.
The incident happened in a private lawn in Erandwane area near Kothrud under the jurisdiction of Alankar Police Station.
As per the information shared by police officials, the incident occurred on March 22 around 7 pm.
Senior Police Inspector Sunita Rokde will take the investigation further.
As per the FIR details, the complainant spotted the accused filming him while both of them were urinating in the toilet. Afterward, the accused was beaten up by a group of people. In the video that went viral, he can be seen denying the charges and saying that he was there for a function while being beaten up. A case has been registered against him under Section 66(E) of the IT Act at Alankar Police Station.
Sunita Rokde, speaking to FPJ, said the accused, Mangesh Nandkumar Jawahire, has been arrested for the crime.
"His mobile has been detained, and the incident video was found on his mobile phone. Accordingly, action will be taken. The exact cause of shooting the video is part of the investigation," she added.
This comes a day after a male user on Reddit from Pune claimed that they were allegedly touched inappropriately in Kharadi.
