Pune VIDEO: Just Days After Shocking Rape Incident, Power Cut At Midnight Leaves Swargate Depot In Dark |

While the incident of a 26-year-old girl's rape in a parked Shivshahi bus at the Swargate bus depot is still fresh, another disturbing detail has come to light from the depot. The Swargate bus depot was left in the dark at midnight on Wednesday as there was no electricity. The mismanagement of the Swargate depot administration was evident in this situation. The video of the dark depot went viral on social media, and people were quick to highlight that the administration seems to be indifferent, even after such a serious rape incident, as they have not taken any action yet.

The viral video has raised the question: is the Swargate depot administration waiting for another untoward incident to happen? When there was complete darkness in the depot due to the lack of lights, some female passengers were also seen waiting for the bus in the dark. As a result, the depot administration is facing criticism. Despite the fresh case of rape, people are saying that the administration has still not woken up.

Meanwhile, the accused in the Swargate rape case, Dattatray Gade, is in police custody, and his interrogation is ongoing. The incident of threatening and assaulting a young woman passenger took place on February 25 morning at around 5:30 am in the premises of Swargate ST station.

After the incident, Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik had instructed the department officials to investigate the matter and submit a report. Following this, the suspension of four officers of the Swargate Bus Depot was announced in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday for negligence in security.

The suspended officers include Senior Depot Manager Jayesh Patil, Junior Depot Manager Pallavi Patil, Traffic Inspectors Sunil Kele, and Traffic Superintendent Mohini Dhage. Additionally, Transport Minister stated that 22 security guards at the depot have been replaced.
