Amidst the rising cases of Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS), water across Pune is literally under the scanner. Meanwhile, a shocking video of an employee contaminating drinking water has surfaced from Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU).
As if the reports of cockroaches in canteen food and rat infestations were not enough, an employee was seen putting his feet into the drinking water cooler and extracting water, which was later used for cleaning the floor.
This water from the same cooler is consumed by staff, students, and workers as well. The incident was reported at the Adarsh Canteen in SPPU.

Meanwhile, Rahul Sasane (President - University Student Struggle Action Committee, Maharashtra State) said, "Currently, there is an outbreak of GBS disease in Maharashtra. The Health Department has ordered all citizens to boil water and drink it. There are frequent cases of worms and cockroaches in the food in the canteen, mess, and cafeteria of SPPU."
Sasane further said, "In all such situations, a new video has surfaced. In Adarsh Canteen, an employee was seen putting his foot in the drinking water and taking out the water. He is using that water to wipe the floor. And all the students, employees, and professors are drinking water from this cooler. This matter is very serious, and suspension action should be taken against the concerned worker. The sanitation staff cannot touch the water cooler. The university has given the contract to clean and repair this cooler to a particular company. People from that company come and repair this machine."
