The Divisional Commissioner office has started the initiative of Sasti Adalat to clear the encroached farm-roads and footpaths going to the farms of the farmers in all the eight districts in the Marathwada division. In all, 560 farm-roads and footpaths have been cleared through mediation in the Sasti Adalat, an initiative taken by Divisional Commissioner Dilip Gawade.
The state Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has recently issued directives to the Revenue Department regarding the farm-roads and footpaths to the farms in the state. He directed that all the existing farm-roads and footpaths should be given numbers. Their limits should be fixed and complaints of the narrow farm-roads should be resolved. The Revenue Department should take appropriate actions where the farm-roads should be closed. The hearing of the cases should be done with the tehsildars and the cases should be resolved within a month, and others.
As per these directives, the concerned officers of various departments were called on the second and fourth Fridays of every month at the tehsil office to resolve the cases through the Sasti Adalat initiative.
The first Sasti Adalat was held on May 9 and the second on May 23. The officers resolved the cases on the spot and by visiting the spots in some cases. Gawade himself participated in the proceedings through the online system and interacted with the residents. Several cases were received in the Sasti Adalat and many of them were disposed of through negotiations. In all, 1,280 cases were received in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division, of which 560 were disposed of.
