Speaking at a review meeting held at the Sahyadri Guest House on Wednesday, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis directed the creation of good 'connectivity' from bypass road, Satara, and Nagar Roads to Purandar Airport at a cost of Rs 636.84 crore for the proposed new Purandar Airport road network.
Fadnavis, along with other officials, took part in the review meeting for various projects in Mumbai on Wednesday. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, Cabinet Minister Chandrakant Patil, and Minister of State Madhuri Misal were present for the meeting.
He also directed the construction of an underpass from Yerawada to Katraj. The PMRDA should start preparing a plan for connectivity to Purandar Airport from the Ahmednagar and Satara highways, as people coming from Western Maharashtra will not have to enter the city.
Other development projects
Among other development projects, Fadnavis approved a fund of Rs 636.84 crore for the proposed new Purandar Airport road network and Rs 203 crore for cement roads in the Ranjangaon and Hinjewadi industrial areas in the meeting. A provision of Rs 1,526 crore was made to build a road network for the 'Urban Growth Centre'.
Fadnavis also said that, while providing buses to the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML), the authority should consider its manpower, repair system, and population. Initially, electric buses were given to the Pune Corporation. Due to these buses, citizens could travel in air-conditioned comfort at a very low price. "The corporations have demanded 500 buses from the authority. These buses should be CNG. Care should be taken to ensure that there are no management issues in the future. The action to provide land in the Pune Raj Bhavan premises for the flyover service of the Metro should be completed immediately," he added.
