Pruthviraj’s grandfather Amrita Mohol was a great wrestler. He had won the titles of Pune Mayor Kesari, Mumbai Mayor Kesari, and Nashik Mayor Kesari. He also represented India in the senior group wrestling tournament held in Germany. He fought the final match of the ‘Maharashtra Kesari’ tournament held in Wardha in 1989-90. He was declared the winner. However, there was a big controversy at that time, and the match was kept undecided. Since then, the Mohol family has been waiting for ‘Maharashtra Kesari.’

Meanwhile, Pruthviraj's father Rajendra Mohol had to lose in the clay section in the semi-final match held in Nagpur in 1999.
