Despite Pune Police vowing to crack down on koyta gangs, the crimes don't seem to be subsiding. In one such incident on Monday, a gang armed with koytas reached a man's society in the Dattanagar area of Katraj.

According to the information received, the accused Aditya Ranjane operates a tea stall at Trimurti Chowk near Bharati Vidhyapeeth. At 6am, a dispute over payment of a tea bill began. The argument later turned violent. Dayaram Sutar, who resides in a society in Dattanagar, intervened and stopped the fight. After some time, everyone left the place.

Later, in a fit of rage, Ranjane and the others involved in the fight stormed Sutar's society and reached his home armed with koytas. They inquired whether he was at home. Upon learning that he wasn't there, they left. The video of this incident has gone viral on social media. In the footage, they are clearly seen carrying the weapons.

Speaking to The Free Press Journal, Senior Police Inspector Sharad Zine, Ambegaon Police Station, said that a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). "We have sent a team in search of the accused. They will be arrested soon," he added.
