Pune Municipal Commissioner Rajendra Bhosale inspected the Sinhagad Road flyover on Monday ahead of its opening.
A video of the inspection has gone viral on social media. The video shows Bhosale riding pillion on a bike while speaking on the phone and overseeing the ongoing work.
However, what grabbed the attention of netizens was that the rider was not wearing a helmet. Many users questioned why traffic rules are strictly enforced on common citizens but often overlooked when it comes to those in positions of power.

A user sarcastically wrote, "Now obviously, everyone will argue about the lack of a helmet. But nobody will appreciate that he is so confident about the flyover quality that he doesn’t need a helmet. If you have doubts about the @PMCPune work quality and @PuneCityTraffic efficacy, you wear a helmet."
Another user commented, "But where is the helmet? Both should voluntarily pay the fine for being blatant violators of traffic rules, that too publicly and published on the internet. Shameful !!!"
"What inspection are you talking about? They are riding without helmets. Leaders should lead with examples. Looking at their body language, do you think they are doing any kind of checks?" a third user asked.
A fourth user wrote, "All without helmets, police conveniently go blind. Nothing new. People are habituated to such an attitude from them."
