In Pune, cricket enthusiasts gathered, as they always do, on Fergusson College Road, waving banners and the Indian flag to celebrate the Men in Blue's triumph.

A video from the celebration has gone viral on social media. In the footage, police are seen beating a youth with lathis while others look on. Speaking to The Free Press Journal, a police official stated that the youth was drunk and causing a disturbance during the celebration. After observing his behaviour, the youth was taken aside and beaten, the official added. "He apologised for his behaviour and was then let go," the official further said.
