Pune Police and Food and Drug Control Administration (FDCA) raided a warehouse in Manjari Khurd and seized 1,400 kg of adulterated paneer, an official said on Saturday.

Speaking to The Free Press Journal, Wahid Pathan, Senior Police Inspector (Crime Branch Unit 6), said the police received information about large-scale production and distribution of substandard dairy products being operated from Manik Nagar in Manjari Khurd.
"Acting on the tip-off, the Crime Branch, along with the FDCA, conducted a raid, seizing 1,400 kg of adulterated paneer, 400 kg of glycerol monostearate powder, 1,800 kg of skimmed milk powder and 718 litres of palm oil, amounting to a total seizure worth ₹11.56 lakh," said Pathan.
In connection with the case, the police have booked Sopan Chaburao Salve (45), a resident of Dubenagar in Wagholi. Reportedly, he was also booked previously for running the same illegal adulterated paneer factory.
Meanwhile, the FDCA has urged citizens to exercise caution while purchasing food products and to report any suspicious activities related to food adulteration.
