The ‘Vandan Bharatmatela’ program, a joint initiative by MAEER's MIT World Peace University and MIT Arts, Design and Technology University, will be held on Republic Day, January 26, at 4:30 pm. The event will take place at the World Peace Dome courtyard in Rajbaug, Loni Kalbhor, featuring a musical tribute from over 700 singers and musicians.

The details of the program were shared by MIT WPU Working President Dr Rahul Karad and Vice Chancellor Dr RM Chitnis during a press conference. Also present were WPU Advisor Dr Sanjay Upadhye and former Director of Doordarshan, Dr Mukesh Sharma.

Notable personalities, including painter and President of the V Shantaram Foundation Dr Kiran Shantaram, renowned singer Pt Hridaynath Mangeshkar, and Ushatai Mangeshkar, will grace the event. Additionally, Prof Dr Vishwanath Karad, founder president of MIT WPU, and ADTU Executive President Dr Mangesh Karad will be in attendance.

This program has special significance as it marks the birth centenary of the legendary film icon Raj Kapoor, the architect of the golden age of Indian cinema, and honors the memory of Lata Mangeshkar.

The musical tribute will commence with the ancient Pakhwaj, considered a cornerstone of Indian music. It will feature renditions of popular film songs along with solo performances of instruments like tabla, violin, and flute. The fusion of modern instruments such as synthesizers and guitars will accompany patriotic songs, paying homage to Mother India. The event will culminate with a group rendition of Pasayadan, including hymns from the Warkari sect, symbolizing the faith and devotion of the MIT community.

The concept and structure of the event have been designed by Prof Dr Vishwanath Karad, founder president of MIT WPU, and it pays tribute to the legacy of Raj Kapoor and Lata Mangeshkar. The program will be free to the public, and tickets can be obtained from the security departments of MIT WPU and ADTU. The MAEER's MIT Education Group encourages the public to attend and make the event a grand success.
