In good news for the residents of Bhugaon in Pune, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is planning to widen the road to alleviate traffic congestion issues.

As per the report by ToI, the construction of a flyover or a grade separator is also under consideration.

However, the road will be widened only within the civic jurisdiction and not beyond that, as per the demand of Bhugaon residents.

Rs 15 crore has been dedicated to the project, and the study, which is underway, will be ready within the next three months.

One more double-decker flyover in city

Meanwhile, in good news for Kothrud residents, Pune is set to get its third double-decker flyover for the area after the Nal Stop and Pune University double-decker flyovers.

As per the report by HT, it will be constructed at a cost of ₹85 crore in Kothrud on Paud Road to ease traffic, following the Nal Stop and SPPU flyovers. The flyover will stretch from the garbage depot to Lohia Information Technology (IT) Park, Bhusari Colony.

It will help reduce traffic congestion in the area and has been proposed by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (Maha-Metro).

This flyover will be 700 meters long and is estimated to cost around ₹85 crore. Maha-Metro has prepared a draft design for the project and submitted it to the PMC, waiting for approval in the general body meeting after which the actual work will begin.
