A 19-year-old youth died by suicide at the Shivajinagar Police Colony, officials said on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Rishikesh Kokane, a 2nd-year BA student, they added.
According to the police, Rishikesh was the son of Dada Kokane, who is an Assistant Sub-Inspector in the Maharashtra State Reserve Police Force (SRPF). He took his own life by hanging himself on the fourth floor of E Block in the Shivajinagar Police Colony.
Chandrashekhar Sawant, Senior Police Inspector, Shivajinagar Police Station, said, "The incident occurred on Friday night. It is a matter of a love triangle. Further investigation is underway."
