The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) is urging customers to use its 'Go Green' facility with a special New Year's offer. Customers who opt for this eco-friendly service will receive a one-time ₹120 discount on their electricity bill.

Currently, only 4.62 lakh (1.15%) of the three crore low-tension (LT) consumers have opted for this service. To boost participation, MSEDCL plans to send SMS notifications to registered consumers, encouraging them to join the 'Go Green' facility. By enrolling, consumers can instantly save ₹120 on their electricity bill.

Rajendra Pawar, Chief Engineer of MSEDCL's Pune Circle, explained the benefits of the 'Go Green' initiative, which supports the 'Save Paper, Save Environment' campaign. "Customers who opt for e-bills instead of printed bills will receive a ₹10 discount on their monthly electricity bill, totalling a ₹120 reduction over the next 12 months," he said.
