Ahead of the upcoming Shiv Jayanti celebrations, Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi stressed the need to provide all necessary facilities, such as adequate drinking water, medical treatment and medicines, to the followers of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who will be attending the festival in the district. He directed all concerned agencies to coordinate effectively to ensure the success of the Shiv Jayanti event.

Dudi made these remarks during a review meeting held at the District Collector's Office to prepare for Shiv Jayanti. MLA Sharad Sonawane, Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh, Resident Deputy Collector Jyoti Kadam, Junnar Sub-Divisional Officer Govind Shinde, Additional Superintendent of Police Ramesh Chopde, District Health Officer Dr Sachin Desai, Tehsildar Sunil Shelke, and Group Development Officer Vitthal Bhoir, among others, attended the meeting.

The Collector urged that all departments should work together to ensure the festival is celebrated with the usual enthusiasm. He highlighted the importance of ensuring the cleanliness of the forts like Shivneri, Rajgad and Purandar and providing proper sanitation facilities for the large number of followers expected. Dudi further advised that drinking water should be tested twice to ensure its quality, and the number of toilets should be increased based on last year’s attendance estimates. He also requested the Health Department to stock up on ample medicines and ORS packets at the health booths.

Additionally, Dudi asked the Archaeological Department to handle the cleaning of the forts, the Municipal Council to supply clean water, and the State Transport Corporation to provide sufficient bus services. He stressed the need to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the festival. Dudi also called for the cooperation of local citizens, as usual, to ensure the event’s success.

MLA Sharad Sonawane also made several suggestions during the meeting to further enhance the arrangements for Shiv Jayanti celebrations.
