BJP Labour Wing City President Omkar Kadam has been booked by Shivaji Nagar Police in Pune on June 17 for harassing and threatening women officers of the Health Department, Pune Municipal Corporation.
According to the complaint, on February 17, Kadam and his supporters came to the PMC Health Office in a group, filmed the woman officer without her permission, threatened her, and asked for information which she did not have.
The woman officer also said that Kadam would often come to her office, misbehave with her, speak rudely, and make her feel uncomfortable. Regarding the matter, a case has been registered under Sections 78 (stalking), 79 PM (outraging the modesty of a woman through words, gestures, or acts), 126 (wrongful restraint), 189(2) (unlawful assembly), and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita at Shivaji Nagar Police Station.

Mahesh Bolkotgi, Senior Police Inspector of Shivaji Nagar Police Station, speaking to FPJ, said, “Police have registered the case under the relevant sections. The matter is under investigation; accordingly, action will be taken against Kadam."
Earlier, after the incident, the PMC Commissioner had already banned Kadam and his colleagues from entering the PMC building.
The woman officer had also complained to the Internal Committee, Security Department, and BJP leaders. When the harassment didn’t stop, she finally took her complaint to the State Women’s Commission.
