The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has launched a mobile application, 'Rang Yatra', to facilitate online bookings of the civic-body owned theatres, cultural halls and art galleries.

Prior to the launch of the application, people used to book tickets through conventional means at the ticket counter, but now they can avail themselves of tickets online.

This initiative aims to simplify the current offline booking system, which often causes inconvenience to event organisers. Now individuals or organisations looking to book a theatre or cultural venue need not visit municipal offices to gather details about availability, seating capacity and rental charges. 'Rang Yatra' eases the process and makes it more convenient and accessible.

The 'About this app' section on Google Play Store reads, "The application provisions online booking/reservation of cultural centres within Pune city owned by the corporation. The application tends to digitise the experience of booking, refund, bill payment, cancellation and many other tasks that were manual."

"The application also provides a table of upcoming events up to three months earlier. This is the only application which has official, correct schedule of all shows, events hosted in the centres," it adds.

Meanwhile, the comment section is filled with positive reviews.

A user wrote, "Great app for Pune's Cultural Enthusiasts! This app is a fantastic resource for anyone looking to experience Pune's vibrant cultural scene. It's incredibly user-friendly, with a clean interface and easy navigation. The ability to book tickets online, view upcoming events and even get refunds digitally is a huge time-saver. The app also provides accurate and up-to-date information on all the shows and events happening in Pune's cultural centers. Highly recommended!"

"One of the best innovations by PMC. Now common people don't need to visit the office in traffic and can easily book and make payments from the app. Good job," commented another user.

"This app is really helpful for booking theatres as well as for booking shows as a customer. UI is quite easy to understand," a third user stated.
