While pre-wedding photoshoots and pre-festivities ahead of marriage can be an issue of little disagreements, a bride-to-be in Ahilyanagar near Pune shocked everyone by masterminding the murder of her fiancé to avoid the marriage after a pre-wedding photoshoot and engagement.
The police have arrested five accused, but the bride herself is still absconding.
Mayuri Sunil Dangde from Srigonda taluka of Ahilyanagar was engaged to Sagar Jaisingh Kadam from Mahi Jalgaon of Karjat taluka.
The families had planned everything, including the engagement ceremony and a pre-wedding shoot. However, Mayuri’s mind changed afte rthe engagement and pre-wedding photoshoot, and she no longer wanted to marry Sagar. Instead of ending the engagement gracefully, she plotted a deadly scheme with the help of a few accomplices.

On February 27, Sagar, who works as a cook in a hotel, was attacked by a group of people while returning home from work around 7:30 PM near a hotel in the police area near Khamgaon Fata in Daund taluka in Pune. After viciously beating him with sticks, the attackers ran away.
After they fled, Sagar was called the police despite his injuries, and they opened an inquiry after filing a report at Yawat Police Station.
The arrested accused are identified as Aditya Shankar Dangde (19), Sandeep Dada Gawade (40), Shivaji Ramdash Jare (32), Indrabhan Sakharam Kolpe (37), and Suraj Dighambar Jadhav (36). All are residents of Ahilya Nagar.
According to the police, Sagar was working as a cook in a hotel in Baner, Pune. His marriage with Mayuri Dangde was fixed and set for March 12. On February 22, Sagar received an unknown WhatsApp call threatening him not to marry Mayuri, warning of further consequences. The caller claimed that Mayuri would run away and marry someone else.
About the call, Sagar contacted Mayuri's elder brother and narrated the threat. While questioning, she denied any such intentions and offered to verify the truth if they did not believe her.
On February 27, Mayuri invited Sagar to watch a movie together in the Hadapsar area. After the movie, Sagar dropped her at a relative's house in Khamgaon.
While returning, he was stopped near Khamgaon Phata by a group of men in a four-wheeler. Sagar was attacked by them with wooden sticks and threatened not to marry Mayuri. He was severely injured on his head, legs, back, and hands.
After receiving medical treatment, Sagar filed a police complaint at Yavat Police Station on March 1. Following the information, the police detained Aditya Shankar Dangde by tracing the vehicle number used in the crime. Dangde confessed to the crime along with his associates.
Bapurao Dadas, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Daund Division), speaking to Free Press, said, "The investigation reveals that Mayuri Dangde and Sandeep Gawade had given a ₹1.5 lakh contract to Aditya Dangde and others to kill Sagar Kadam. The accused have confessed to the crime. The police have arrested all five accused, except Mayuri, who is on the run after the incident came to light. However, she will be arrested soon. The police are analyzing CCTV footage from the areas and other technical evidence."
Further, the matter is under investigation.
Regarding the matter, a case has been registered at Yavat Police Station under Sections 109 and 61 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
