Pune, March 26: A Pune court on Wednesday (March 26) granted bail to Gaurav Ahuja, whose video of urinating in public and flashing his genitals went viral, sparking massive outrage.

Gaurav was arrested and booked under multiple sections of the law, including sections 270, 281, 285, 79, and 238 of the BNS, as well as provisions under the Motor Vehicles Act and Prohibition Act. However, a local court granted him bail.

Senior Police Inspector Shelke of Yerawada Police Station confirmed the development, stating that further investigation is underway.

Pune’s Yerawada area witnessed an outrageous incident when Gaurav Ahuja, son of restaurant owner Manoj Ahuja, was caught on video behaving indecently in public. The video, which went viral on social media on Saturday (March 8) morning, showed Gaurav allegedly under the influence of alcohol, stepping out of a BMW at a traffic signal in Yerawada's Shastrinagar, to urinate on the road divider.

When confronted by locals, he not only ignored them but also flashed at them before speeding away. Another youth in the car was seen holding a liquor bottle.

After the incident sparked public outrage, police reviewed CCTV footage and traced the vehicle’s number plate. The BMW was registered in the name of Manoj Ahuja, and the driver was identified as his son, Gaurav.

“The incident occurred around 7:30 AM on Saturday. A case was registered against Gaurav and the other youth. A police team was deployed to track them down, and they were last seen heading towards Wagholi,” an official said.

Before his arrest, Ahuja shared a video on social media, expressing remorse for his actions. In the clip, he apologised to "the police department and Shinde Saheb." It is speculated that he was referring to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, though there is no official confirmation of whom he meant in his apology.
