In a disturbing case of sexual assault that came to the forefront in Lonikand, a 16-year-old girl was raped by her own uncle. This harrowing incident has resulted in the Lonikand police taking action by registering a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).

Pune Mirror reported that the accused, who is the victim's paternal uncle, is accused of committing the initial offence in July, August and now in October. On that day, the victim was resting in a room adjacent to her family's shop when the uncle allegedly attempted to undress her. The victim's cries for help drew the immediate attention of her mother, who rushed to the scene, discovering the distressing situation. Swift intervention by the mother and others ensured the young victim's safety.

During the subsequent inquiry, the victim detailed the horrifying experiences she had endured. The accused has confessed to raping her.
