Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar on Tuesday firmly denied allegations made by former Maharashtra minister Eknath Khadse, who claimed that police deliberately leaked photos and videos of a drug party raid that led to the arrest of his son-in-law.

Kumar dismissed the claims as "baseless" and said, "The police action was completely transparent, legal, and in accordance with the law. A detailed list of actions taken has already been shared with the media."

The police had conducted a late-night raid at around 3:30 am on Sunday at a studio apartment in Kharadi, an upscale locality in Pune. The Crime Branch arrested seven individuals, including Pranjal Khewalkar, Khadse's son-in-law, and allegedly seized cocaine, marijuana, hookah setups, and liquor.

Responding to Khadse’s allegations that Pune Police had leaked private footage of the raid, Kumar clarified, "No photos or videos of any kind were released by the police. If someone else has taken videos or photos, we cannot control that. But let me be very clear: the police did not leak anything."

He further added that the operation was based on confidential information and was carried out with due diligence. "No one should have any doubts about the integrity of our action. It was carried out based on secret intelligence, and everything was done by the book," Kumar emphasized.
