The Water Management Action Fortnight – 2025 was inaugurated at the District Planning Hall in the District Collectorate on Tuesday. District Collector Dilip Swami stated that the proper usage of available water for drinking, irrigation, and industries is water management. Through this management, people can be made aware of the water usage and water saving initiative. The fortnight will continue till April 30.
ZP CEO Ankit, Chief Engineer Jayant Gawali, Superintending Engineer Samadhan Sabbinwar, Executive Director Santosh Tirmanwar, WALMI Chief Avinash Garudkar, Executive Engineer Jadhav, R. D. Mundada, Agriculture Officer Prakash Deshmukh, Prakash Patil, and officers and employees of the Water Resources Department were present. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the traditional lamp and worshiping the water. The audience was administered an oath for water preservation.
Swami further said that the water management should be implemented scrupulously, for which public participation is very important. The concerned authorities should go to the public and inform them about the water planning and preservation. People should enthusiastically participate in the water management action plan. During the fortnight, various projects like water refilling, plantation, well refilling, and desilting will be implemented. The Agriculture, Water Resources, and other departments should implement the initiative with proper coordination, Swami directed.
In his introductory speech, Subbinwar informed about various projects to be implemented during the fortnight. Ashvini Deshpande conducted the proceedings of the function while Prashant Jadhav proposed a vote of thanks.
