In a strategic initiative to enhance internal security preparedness, a comprehensive Military-Civil Fusion Training and Exercise was successfully conducted at Aundh Military Station from March 10 to 15. The exercise saw participation from the Indian Army, Maharashtra Police, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Disaster Management Department, the PCMC Fire Department and PCMC Medical Teams.
The training was spearheaded by Brigadier S Taluja, Commander of the Shivneri Brigade, Aundh, with active coordination by Colonel Ravi Ranjan. Senior officials, including PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Additional Commissioners Pradeep Jambhale Patil and Chandrakant Indalkar, Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCP) Shivaji Pawar and Milind Mohite and PCMC Deputy Commissioner Manoj Lonkar, extended their full support, ensuring seamless civil-military collaboration.
The exercise focused on scenario-based training, counter-terrorism simulations, and emergency response strategies to test and improve the preparedness of all participating agencies. It provided a vital platform for enhancing inter-agency coordination and refining crisis management protocols.
A key priority of this joint exercise was to enhance communication and interoperability among military and civil agencies. By fostering seamless coordination, the initiative emphasised the importance of a unified approach to addressing internal security challenges, disaster response and emergency management.
Officials highlighted that Military-Civil Fusion is essential for maintaining public safety and national security. The structured training programme reinforced the need for synchronised efforts to effectively address evolving security threats.
The success of this five-day joint exercise reaffirms the dedication of all participating agencies to collective security preparedness. Going forward, additional training sessions and simulation exercises will be conducted at the Foreign Training and Military-Civil Fusion Training Node, Aundh, further strengthening operational efficiency and inter-agency cooperation.
