Nashik: In view of the large number of devotees visiting Trimbakeshwar on the occasion of Shravan Monday, Kumbh Mela Minister and Nashik District Guardian Minister Girish Mahajan travelled by a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus from the Khambale parking area to Trimbakeshwar this morning.
District Collector Ayush Prasad, Superintendent of Police Dr D. S. Swami, water expert Rajendra Singh and others accompanied Minister Mahajan during the bus journey.
Trimbakeshwar, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas in the country, witnessed the arrival of thousands of devotees from across Maharashtra and different parts of the country on Shravan Mondays for darshan and the traditional circumambulation of Brahmagiri. During the first Monday of Shravan, heavy crowds and traffic congestion were reported. Against this backdrop, the administration has arranged a parking facility at Khambale, about four kilometres from Trimbak town. From there, devotees are being transported to Trimbakeshwar by MSRTC buses, with a similar arrangement for the return journey.
As part of the administration’s preparations, Minister Mahajan chose to travel by an ST bus to inspect the arrangements and to ensure that his official convoy did not cause inconvenience to devotees.
During the journey, Minister Mahajan reviewed the preparations made by the district administration for Shravan Monday and offered several important suggestions to the officials regarding crowd management and traffic arrangements.
