There is widespread talk in the Dhamori area that a driver allegedly saw a ghost near the river on the Shirwade-Dhamori road. The ghost is rumoured to have attacked the driver, with photos and videos circulating to support the claim. In the photos, the driver’s back appears seriously injured, and a video purportedly contains the sound of crying. As a result, passengers have grown fearful of travelling on this road.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra Andhashraddha Nirmoolan Samiti (MANS) has taken note of the incident. Krishna Chandgude, state executive officer, MANS, stated, "Ghosts do not exist in the world. Fear arises because ghosts exist in the mind, and such ideas are ingrained in childhood."

Chandgude further clarified that the photo and video are fake, having been edited. He added that the same photo has been circulating on social media in various places for many days.

To dispel the fear and misconceptions about ghosts, MANS activists will visit the area on the night of the new moon. They will organise a public programme in Dhamori village to educate people and eradicate superstitions. Moreover, efforts will be made to create scientific awareness among students through school programmes.

Chandgude urged citizens not to believe in such rumours and emphasised the need to tackle these falsehoods with scientific reasoning.
