Nashik: In the self-styled godman Ashok Kharat case, sources have revealed that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has questioned three to four doctors from the city. The inquiry reportedly focused on doctors who allegedly provided abortion pills to women.
During the investigation, it has also come to light that, acting on advice from these doctors, Ashok Kharat allegedly gave women sedatives and painkiller tablets under the name of “Oceano Jal.” In one instance, a woman who had allegedly become pregnant following sexual assault was reportedly given abortion pills at the “Oaks” office.
At present, Kharat is being interrogated by the SIT, and several shocking details have emerged. Meanwhile, a case has been registered at Sarkarwada Police Station for allegedly sexually assaulting a divorced woman under the pretext of performing rituals and promising marriage, and subsequently forcing her to undergo an abortion.
According to the complaint, the victim had first visited Ashok Kharat in 2013 along with her parents after a marriage proposal had come for her. Kharat allegedly assured them that she would have a happy married life and advised her to perform rituals at the Ishaneshwar Temple.
Despite having two children, domestic disputes between the woman and her husband escalated, eventually leading to their separation. Thereafter, the victim again approached Kharat along with her parents for guidance regarding her future. It was from this point, the complaint states, that the accused allegedly began casting an evil eye on her.
On a subsequent visit, Kharat allegedly attempted to behave inappropriately with her. Later, the woman moved to Delhi to prepare for competitive examinations, but returned to Nashik due to concerns about her children’s future. When she once again sought Kharat’s guidance, he allegedly began luring her into his trap.
The complaint further alleges that he made her drink water from a copper vessel and then sexually assaulted her.
“I am a divine man”, Jal Kharat allegedly told the victim, “Your divorce was written in destiny. You were an apsara in your previous birth. I am a divine man. I am destined to marry twice, and my second marriage will be with you.” Using such claims, he allegedly continued to sexually exploit her.
When the woman became pregnant, Kharat allegedly forced her to consume abortion pills, leading to the termination of the pregnancy. Following this, a formal case has been registered against him.
