After a man posted a video showing bedsheets and pillow covers used in the railway being thrown on the ground before washing at Pune Railway station, the video went viral, with several people slamming the Pune railway division's operations.
The blanket and bedsheets were lying on the rain-soaked platform with visible stains of mud.
The video was posted from an Instagram account with the caption:
"Dear Indian Railways š, If these AC coach bedsheets and pillows had feelings, theyād be crying in a puddle of sadness š§šļø Caught these poor souls soaking in dirty rainwater on Pune Station floor ā the same sheets that later go under our heads in AC coaches š·. Clean sheets, clean sleep ā thatās the basic expectation, isnāt it? This isnāt a rant, itās a humble request: If weāre paying for comfort, can we not hug a hygiene hazard at 60 km/hr @railminindia @railwayseva please look into this šš¼ ā weād rather dream in trains, not about whatās crawling in our pillowcases."
Railway promises action
Hemant Behera, Public Relations Officer of Pune division, speaking to FPJ said that they are aware of the video and that bedsheets and pillow covers cannot be thrown on the platform like this even before washing and promised necessary action against the said contractor who did this.
