The 6th edition of the India Science Festival (ISF) will be hosted on January 11-12, 2024, at Fergusson College, Pune. The festival, which first began in 2020, celebrates science, technology, and innovation, offering a platform for scientists, researchers, students, and science enthusiasts to engage in discussions, workshops, and demonstrations. The event is open to the public with free admission. Although accommodation is not provided, there are plenty of hotels and guesthouses in Pune. The India Science Festival is the flagship annual event of the Foundation for Advancing Science and Technology (FAST India), a non-profit institution dedicated to transforming India's science and technology ecosystem through research, policy, government support, institutional strengthening, corporate sector engagement, and science communication.
The ISF 2025 will feature a distinguished lineup of experts across various scientific fields. Notable guest lecturers include Prof. Payal Arora from Utrecht University, Dr. Lav Varshney from the University of Illinois, Dr. Hayat Sindi, founder of Diagnostics for All, Dr. Jason D’Cruz from the University of Albany, Ms. Laura Herman from Adobe, and Dr. Adriana Marais, founder of Proudly Human. Other prominent speakers include Dr. Priyadarshi Panda, Prof. Sujatha Ramdorai, Dr. Sedat Gundogdu, Prof. Vidita Vaidya, Dr. Thomas Barlow, Prof. Sumathi Rao, and Dr. Poonam Thakur. Additional experts like Dr. Joao Antunes Pequenao from CERN, Dr. Shubhendu Bhasin from IIT Delhi, Dr. K Thangaraj from the Centre for Cellular & Molecular Biology, Prof. S P Arun from IISc, Prof. Rajesh Gopakumar from TIFR, Dr. Jahnavi Phalkey from Science Gallery Bengaluru, and Prof. Shriya Srinivasan from Harvard will also contribute, making it a vibrant and informative event.
