Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) Zone No. 7 office sealed 34 shops including a study centre and a medical store due to outstanding property tax on Saturday.
Administrator G Srikant has taken a strict stance against commercial and residential establishments that have not paid their property taxes. An intensive drive has been launched across the city to recover the outstanding taxes from property owners under the guidance of Deputy Municipal Commissioner Aparna Thete.
Properties with more than ₹1 lakh outstanding are being sealed by the corporation. On Saturday, the Zone No. 7 office initiated a recovery drive in Sapna Market on Pundliknagar Road. The owner Mohammad Akhil Khan had outstanding taxes amounting to ₹11.28 lakh. Hence, 32 shops, one study centre, and one medicine store in Sapna Market were sealed.
The action was led by assistant commissioner Rahul Jadhav, tax officer G V Jadhav, Krushna Thokal, Dattatray Kenekar, Sanjay Sable, Mirza Akbar, Santosh Rathod, Suraj Sharma, Sudhir Dabhade, Jitendra Borde, Mahesh Daund, Shubham Kirtishahi, Anil Gade, Rohit Gaikwad and others.
