Early this morning near Hyundai Chowk at Khalumbre on the Chakan-Talegaon Road, a devastating accident occurred when a two-wheeler was struck by a trailer around 6:30 AM, resulting in the instant death of 27-year-old HR Gajanan Baburao Borkekar on Monday.

Borkekar had gotten married just 3 months ago.

His mutilated body highlights the severity of the crash. The dangerous stretch of road, plagued by large potholes, has become increasingly perilous for commuters, especially industrial workers.

Despite repeated incidents and fatalities, government authorities have yet to undertake necessary repairs or implement safety measures. Locals are now demanding urgent road repairs and accountability for the preventable loss of life.

Saee was on her way home after finishing college work on Thursday afternoon. While going from Hingne to Tukai Nagar, she moved bike a little to the side to avoid sewage flowing on the road. At the same time, a cement truck coming from behind hit her. Saee died on the spot in this horrific accident.

Chakan traffic

In a recently held meeting on the Hinjawadi IT Park issues, Bhosari MLA Mahesh Landge brought to the attention of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis the growing concerns around traffic congestion and civic challenges in the Chakan–Talegaon MIDC area.

Landge highlighted that, like Hinjawadi, the Chakan–Talegaon industrial belt—located adjacent to Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune—is facing severe traffic bottlenecks, poor road infrastructure, and civic problems. These challenges are impacting thousands of daily commuters, residents, and industries operating in the region.

Following the discussion, CM Fadnavis assured that a dedicated meeting will be held soon to address the Chakan–Bhosari traffic congestion and related infrastructure issues. The meeting is expected to focus on specific measures to improve traffic flow, upgrade roads, and provide long-term solutions for industrial and residential areas.
