As many as 5,035 cases were registered in various police stations under the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar police commissionerate jurisdiction, of which the police solved 4,912 cases, informed CP Pravin Pawar.

Addressing the press, CP Pravin Pawar said that 43 murder cases were registered, of which 42 were solved. There were 109 cases of attempt to murder, and 108 of them were solved. Four cases of culpable homicides were also registered, and all of them were solved. In total, 149 cases of rape were registered, and 148 were solved. Similarly, 56 cases of child abuse were registered, and all of them were solved. Sixteen cases of dacoity were registered, and 15 were solved. 175 cases of theft were registered, and 100 were solved, Pawar said.

Rise in crime due to urbanization

The city has been grappling with crimes like murder, chain snatching, robbery, vehicle theft, mobile theft, and other types of crime. The crime rate in the city has also increased. The police administration mentioned that the rise in crime rates is due to the rapid growth of the city and urbanization. With ample job opportunities, people from various places are coming to the city, which has led to an increase in crime. The police are taking all measures to maintain law and order in the city.
