Taps are expected to run dry on Thursday, April 17, in several parts of the city due to damage to the Aagam Temple water line and a major work at Rajmata Subway.

According to a press release issued by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), repair work on these lines will be carried out on the same day, leading to a disruption in the regular water supply on April 17 and and water will be supplied at low pressure on the next day.

The affected areas span a wide stretch of the city, including neighbourhoods such as Nilgiri Chowk, Chintamani Dnyanpeeth to Trimurti Chowk, Bharati Vidyapeeth, Bharati Vihar, Chandrabhaga Nagar, Sawant Vihar, Sawant Garden, Wonder City, Kadam Plaza, Gyansi Garden, Manik Moti, Narayani Dham area, Dattanagar, Santosh Nagar, Ambegaon Budruk village area, Ambegaon Khurd, Jambhulwadi Road, and surrounding areas.

As summer approaches and Pune’s temperature soars, the water demand is expected to surge in the city. Meanwhile, the water level in the quartet of dams supplying water to Pune is rapidly depleting, currently at 40.43% capacity, as of Apr 10, compared to 37.62% in 2024. The water levels have dropped significantly from 53.40% on Mar 11.

Official records reveal that the cumulative water storage of the Khadakwasla reservoir stands at 53.78% as of Apr 10.

Panshet reservoir is at 39.87%, while Temghar stands at 10.21%. Additionally, the Warasgaon dam stands at 47.56% capacity.

While Pavna's water level lies at 42.18% and Kasarsai at 35.93%, Mulshi stands at 41.70%.
