“The use of social media has increased in society, and rumours are also spread by posting objectionable and false information on groups. The person who will be the main culprit, but the admin of the group will also be held responsible for it,” warned ACP Sanjay Sanap.

Against the backdrop of the rumours spread in society by posting false information on social media, an awareness camp was organized. Sanap said some anti-social elements try to disrupt social harmony and integrity in society by spreading false information. The cyber cell is keeping a close watch on such objectionable and provocative messages, he said.
In light of the recent Nagpur riots, the Aurangzeb tomb issue in Khuldabad, Nathsashtri, Ramzan Eid, Gudi Padwa, Shriram Navami, and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, the police are on alert. Hence, a peace committee camp was held recently. Sanap appealed to the people to refrain from spreading rumours. Even the admin of the group will be held responsible for it.
