‘Jai Shivaji, Jai Bharat’ Padyatra was organized on the occasion of the 395th birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on Wednesday. Eminent personalities from various fields, residents, and students participated in the yatra in large numbers with enthusiasm. The participants, dressed in traditional attire, along with adventurous exercises, were the center of attraction.
The padyatra started from Kranti Chowk after paying obeisance to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Other backward class minister Atul Save garlanded the statue. Divisional Commissioner Dilip Gawade, district collector Dilip Swami, additional district collector Dr. Arvind Lokhande, resident deputy district collector Vinod Khirolkar, deputy district collector Sangeeta Rathod, district sports officer Bajirao Desai, and other dignitaries paid obeisance to the statue of Shivaji Maharaj by offering puja.

The padyatra proceeded amid the beating of drums and tashas. The Lezim troops demonstrated exercises. The breathtaking demonstrations of talwarbazi, skating, cycling, malkhamb, gymnastics, and others enthralled the people. The padyatra passed through Paithan Gate, Gulmandi, and concluded at the Mahatma Phule statue in Aurangpura.
