New Delhi: Hon'ble Member of Parliament from Kurukshetra, Shri Naveen Jindal, today highlighted in the Lok Sabha the urgent need to transform the Indian farmers into Agri-Entrepreneurs and make agriculture a profitable and globally competitive sector.

Highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat, Shri Naveen Jindal called for policy reforms, modernization, and global trade expansion to ensure that Indian agriculture meets international standards while securing the prosperity of its farmers.

The Five Pillars Of Agricultural Transformation

Shri Naveen Jindal presented a structured five-pillar approach that covers the entire agricultural value chain, ensuring holistic growth for farmers:

1. Production – Increasing farm productivity through technology, high-yield crops, and scientific farming practices.

2. Storage – Developing modern cold storage, warehousing, and grain banks to reduce post-harvest losses.

3. Transportation – Strengthening rural roads, logistics, and railway networks for efficient supply chain management.

4. Retail – Promoting direct farmer-to-market linkages, digital platforms, and fair pricing policies to eliminate middlemen.

5. Consumer – Ensuring affordable, high-quality agricultural products reach every household through streamlined distribution.

Expanding Agricultural Opportunities Abroad

A key proposal in Shri Naveen Jindal’s speech was the idea of allocating land to Indian farmers in foreign countries to help them cultivate and export globally.

1. The government should explore land acquisition partnerships with countries offering agricultural incentives.

2. This would enhance India’s food security and boost global agricultural influence.

3. Farmers would gain access to larger markets, improved trade policies, and international investment opportunities.

Key Highlights from Shri Naveen Jindal’s Speech:

1. Welcomed the ₹1.37 lakh crore agriculture budget while urging for Haryana’s inclusion in PM Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana

2. Stressed on income security for farmers, highlighting that their average daily earnings remain below even minimum wage levels

3. Called for better cold storage & logistics to minimize ₹1.5 lakh crore worth of annual post-harvest losses

4. Advocated for natural farming incentives, AI-driven agricultural monitoring & solar-powered storage solutions

5. Pushed for barrier-free trade policies & export-oriented reforms to make Indian agriculture globally competitive

Transforming Farmers into Agri-Entrepreneurs

Shri Naveen Jindal emphasized that Indian farmers must be recognized as Agri-Entrepreneurs, capable of value addition, international trade, and innovation in the agricultural sector.

"Farmers are the backbone of India’s economy. It is time to redefine them as Agri-Entrepreneurs and provide them with the resources, technology, and policies needed to thrive. A prosperous farmer means a prosperous nation," said Shri Naveen Jindal.

He further highlighted that strengthening agriculture is crucial for making India a global leader in food security, rural development, and sustainable economic growth. He urged policymakers to focus on modernizing agriculture, providing financial empowerment, and integrating cutting-edge technology into farming practices.

A Roadmap for Viksit Bharat

Shri Naveen Jindal concluded by calling for bold reforms in agriculture to ensure that farmers receive fair pricing, export opportunities, and access to modern infrastructure. He reaffirmed his commitment to collaborating with policymakers, industry leaders, and farmers to transform Indian agriculture into a globally competitive powerhouse.
