India: Indian open-water swimmer Anshuman Jhingran has earned his second Guinness World Records title, after being officially recognised as the Youngest Person to Complete the Oceans Seven (Male), one of the most demanding achievements in international open-water swimming.
Guinness World Records has officially recognised Anshuman for completing the Oceans Seven at the age of 21 years and 109 days. He achieved the historic milestone on 30 June 2026, when he completed the Tsugaru Strait in Japan, the seventh and final crossing of his Oceans Seven journey.
The recognition marks Anshuman's second Guinness World Records title in just three years. In July 2023, at the age of 18 years and 126 days, he became the youngest male to swim the North Channel, crossing from Northern Ireland to Scotland in 11 hours, 28 minutes and 52 seconds.
What began with that record-breaking North Channel swim developed into an extraordinary three-year pursuit of the Oceans Seven. Throughout this journey, Anshuman has trained at the Fr. Agnel Sports Centre in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, under the guidance of his coach, Gokul Kamath. Years of intensive training, preparation and conditioning have been central to his ability to take on seven of the world's most challenging open-water crossings.
Between July 2023 and June 2026, Anshuman successfully completed all seven Oceans Seven crossings:
· North Channel – 17 July 2023 – 11 hrs 28 mins 52 secs
· Catalina Channel – 30 August 2023 – 8 hrs 38 mins 19 secs
· Cook Strait – 18 January 2024 – 6 hrs 58 mins 11 secs
· Molokai/Ka'iwi Channel – 5 October 2024 – 14 hrs 21 mins
· Strait of Gibraltar – 9 May 2025 – 3 hrs 51 mins
· English Channel – 11 August 2025 – 15 hrs 49 mins
· Tsugaru Strait – 30 June 2026 – 11 hrs 37 mins 41 secs
Often regarded as the open-water swimming equivalent of mountaineering's Seven Summits, the Oceans Seven comprises seven of the world's iconic and challenging open-water channel crossings. Swimmers must contend with powerful currents and tides, changing weather conditions, cold water, marine life and hours of sustained physical and mental exertion.
For Anshuman, completing the Oceans Seven represents the culmination of three years of rigorous training, discipline and perseverance, spanning crossings across different continents and some of the world's most challenging waters.

The achievement places Anshuman among a select group of marathon open-water swimmers to have completed the Oceans Seven and establishes him as its youngest male finisher in Guinness World Records history. It also marks a significant moment for Indian open-water swimming on the global stage.

Born on 13 March 2005, Anshuman Jhingran is an Indian marathon open-water swimmer and two-time Guinness World Records title holder. He first entered Guinness World Records in 2023 as the youngest male to swim the North Channel. On 30 June 2026, he completed the Tsugaru Strait in Japan to finish the Oceans Seven and became the Youngest Person to Complete the Oceans Seven (Male) at the age of 21 years and 109 days.
