Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday, February 22, expressed his concern over illegal immigrants "influencing the country's electoral process," questioning when India would take action against undocumented migrants.
Referring to the recent deportation of illegal immigrants by the US government, he urged Indians to question when a similar initiative would commence in India.
As per a report by The Hindu, Dhankhar, who was speaking at the 65th convocation ceremony Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at the Marathwada University, said, "Crores of people who have no right to live in India are living here...They are making their livelihood here. They are making demands on our resources. On our education, health sector, housing sector. Now things have gone further. They are intervening in our electoral process."
"It is the duty of all of us that we spread a mentality in the country, create such an atmosphere....that every Indian becomes alert to this," he added.
Dhankhar also raised concerns over illegal immigration and electoral interference, questioning when India would take action against undocumented migrants. He urged youth to hold public representatives accountable, emphasizing that nationalism should be the nation's top priority.
Addressing religious conversions, he asserted that while individuals are free to practice any faith, conversions through inducements were aimed at altering India's demographic balance. He also warned that some nations had lost their majority due to "demographic invasion." Additionally, he pointed to recent revelations about attempts to influence India's elections, hinting at foreign involvement.
Dhankhar further called for a "deep, thorough, micro-level investigation" to expose any attempts to manipulate democracy. Emphasizing India's goal of becoming a developed nation, he stressed the need for an eight-fold increase in per capita income and unwavering commitment to nationalism, linking it to the country’s freedom and progress.
