Jammu & Kashmir National Conference on Saturday paid tributes to late Kashmiri politician, Begum Akbar Jehan Abdullah on her 21st death anniversary at her grave Hazratbal in Srinagar on Sunday.
Member of parliament and Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Party President Dr. Farooq Abdullah along with his son, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and National Conference Vice-President Omar Abdullah, and senior party leaders paid tributes to Begum Akbar Jehan.
Abdullah twice served as Member of Parliament representing Srinagar and Anantnag constituencies. She was married to National Conference founder Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, mother of Farooq Abdullah, and grandmother of Omar Abdullah.
As per the Kashmir Horizon, the functionaries said that the unrelenting witch hunt to which Abdullah was subjected for more than three decades could never hinder her mission. They said that she achieved the highest realms of glory with her path-breaking achievements.
