World’s largest solar cooking class to be held at Bhayandar

World’s largest solar cooking  class to be held at Bhayandar

Bhayandar : To celebrate the silver jubilee of their “Mahotsav” in an innovative way, Uttan based-Keshav-Srushti has organised ‘Suryakumbh’- a large scale solar oven cooking session for school children on January 4. 

3,500 school students ( aged between 8 to 13 years) from Mumbai, Thane and Navi-Mumbai including differently-abled children have enrolled for the event which according to the organisers is all set to register itself as world’s largest solar oven cooking class in the various national and international record books.
“This workshop is not only a festive gathering to celebrate the power of the Sun, the idea is to engage children creatively with the idea of solar power, that will motivate them to incorporate sustainable energy into their daily lives.” said workshop-in charge, Dr. Asmita Hegde.
The students will be provided with the required material and info on the basic science and functioning of the solar cooker. Renowned Scientist- Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Hotelier- Dr Vithal Kamat and TV actor- Dilip Joshi along with other noted dignitaries will grace the event.
“The students will not only assemble an actual operative model of the solar cooker but they will be actually cooking their choice of food in their own solar cookers.” Informed Satish Sinnarkar, who added that we have applied to register the unique workshop in the Guinness Books- Asia, India and also in the Limca Book of Records.
