World Tourism Day: Maharashtra govt signs MoU with Bombay High Court for heritage tour of building

On the ocassion of the World Tourism Day, Maharashtra government on Monday signed an agreement with Bombay Hgh Court for Heritage tours. These tours will be conducted on Sundays and holidays and bookings slots will be available on bookmyshow.

Every year, on the 27th of September, people all around the globe celebrate World Tourism Day, a day to promote awareness about the role of tourism in the international community and to show how it influences social, cultural, political, and economic values around the world.

The theme for World Tourism Day 2021 is "Tourism for Inclusive Growth." Cote d'Ivoire will host this year's official celebration, which will honour tourism's ability to support inclusive development and the role it plays in encouraging respect while creating opportunities for millions of people around the world.

In addition to that, deputy CM Ajit Pawar also felicitated selected guides who have done excellent work in tourism sector. Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray launched a new informative website of Maharashtra Tourism as well as mobile application.

Thackeray in his speech at event said, "The work done by Maharashtra for tourism development during the Corona period is commendable." He also announced that a meeting of the state cabinet would be held at Deccan Odyssey Railway to underline the importance of tourism.

The Maharashtra government was working to promote monsoon tourism in the Konkan region and to develop the state as a cinema hub with a "single vault" of legendary films and scripts, state Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray had said.

During a select media interaction on Saturday ahead of the World Tourism Day on September 27, Thackeray said the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government was working to "create excitement" about the state as a tourist destination.
