Mumbai: On the occasion of World Environment Day 2025, a powerful environmental awareness campaign titled "Tik Tik Plastic" has been launched in Mumbai. As part of the campaign, a short film featuring Bollywood actor Ajay Devgan has been released. The BMC shared the short film on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, ahead of World Environment Day, which will be observed on June 5, 2025.

The initiative is being conducted in collaboration with the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the Bhamla Foundation, and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). The campaign aims to spread the critical message of avoiding plastic pollution under the slogan: “Say No to Plastic… Save Planet Earth…”

The short film and its message are a call to action for every citizen: protect the environment, reduce plastic usage, and ensure a healthier planet for future generations. The short film emphasises the urgency of reducing plastic usage and highlights how every individual can contribute to environmental conservation by making conscious lifestyle changes.

The campaign aims to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of plastic waste on ecosystems, marine life, and human health. Through engaging visual storytelling, the ''Tik Tik Plastic'' campaign appeals to viewers to act now before irreversible damage occurs to the planet.

‘Tik Tik Plastic’ Lunch By BMC And Bhamla Foundation In Mumbai

In anticipation of World Environment Day on June 5, a global initiative titled ‘Tik Tik Plastic’ was launched as a creative and collaborative effort to combat plastic pollution. The campaign is a joint venture involving the United Nations Environment Programme, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the Bhamla Foundation, and the Ravin Group.

The launch event took place on Friday at the BMC H-West Ward office in Khar, where two impactful short films, ‘Earthing’ and ‘Pyasa’, featuring actor Ajay Devgan, were unveiled. These films deliver strong environmental messages, encouraging individuals to take responsibility for protecting the planet and urging the public to stop using plastic bottles.
