Mumbai: Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has vowed to fast-track the state's development, promising to lead Maharashtra towards progress at three times the current pace. Speaking in the legislative council in response to the Governor's address, Shinde stressed Maharashtra's commitment to contributing significantly to the vision of a 'developed India.'

“Over the past two and a half years, we have initiated Maharashtra's transformation. Our collective mission now is to ensure a prosperous Maharashtra. Maharashtra will not stop,” Shinde asserted.

Reflecting on the achievements of the past two and a half years, Shinde stated that the government had successfully implemented historic welfare schemes. The state had seen record-breaking progress, with no days off for the government and a series of milestones achieved.

Shinde credited the success in the assembly elections to the united efforts of the ruling coalition. “Our responsibility has increased due to the trust the people have placed in us. We now promise faster and more people-centric governance,” he said. Shinde further stressed that his approach to governance had always been focused on rapid development, without giving room for party differences or hatred.

Highlighting key accomplishments, Shinde listed several areas where Maharashtra has led the nation, including FDI, women’s empowerment, GST collection and industrial growth. The state also topped the nation in providing health insurance coverage, offering free electricity to farmers and implementing a stipend programme for youth. Maharashtra's achievements include building the country’s longest sea bridge, developing the largest metro network and initiating infrastructure projects worth Rs10 lakh crore.
