Indian Railways is introducing the New Pune-Rewa-Pune Express which will be the 1st train providing direct connectivity between Pune and Rewa. Presently indirect connectivity is available but this train will increase convenience of travel between these two places.
According to CR, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Railways will flag off the new Rewa-Pune Express on 3rd August 2025 for the benefit of passengers.
Pune is a historical and educational centre and connecting point for several pilgrimage centres in Maharashtra like Alandi, Pandharpur, Akalkot etc.
Rewa apart from a historical and educational centre is also a Tourist Centre with attractions like Keoti and Bahuti waterfalls, White Tiger Safari etc.
"The train will provide fast, secure and comfortable journey between the important stations of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh connecting cities of Pune, Daund, Ahmednagar, Kopargaon, Manmad, Bhusaval, Wardha, Nagpur & Gondia in Maharashtra and Balaghat, Nainpur, Jabalpur, Katni, Satna & Rewa in Madhya Pradesh." said an official of CR.
"This train will cater to the needs of both reserved and unreserved segments of the people and will largely benefit the people residing / working in and around the above cities to travel to their home towns / place of work. It will also be beneficial for businessmen, students, employees proceeding on regular travel and special tours in vacation and will further promote tourism and pilgrimage apart from increasing the avenues of trade and commerce." he said.
The inaugural run of the Rewa-Pune Express will be flagged off by Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Railways in the august presence of other dignitaries on 3rd August 2025.
The details of the regular service of the train is as follows:
Train No. 20151 Pune-Rewa Express will depart from Pune station every Thursday at 5.15 pm and will reach Rewa station at 5.30 pm next day.
Train No. 20152 Rewa-Pune Express will depart from Rewa station every Wednesday at 06.45 am and will reach Pune station at 09.45 am next day.
Major halts – Daund Chord Line, Ahmednagar, Kopargaon, Manmad, Bhusaval,,Wardha, Nagpur, Gondia, Balaghat, Nainpur, Jabalpur, Katni and Satna
Coach Composition: Two 2nd AC, Three 3rd AC, Three 3rd AC Economy, 6 Sleeper Class, 4 General 2nd Class, 1 Second seating cum Guard’s Brake Van and 1 Generator Van.
