Mumbai: Two people died and five others were injured after a Ganesh idol reportedly lost its balance during the arrival ceremony at Balaram Merchant Road in Bhuleshwar late Saturday night.
Incident Took Place Near Kabutarkhana At Jay Ambe Chowk
According to information received from the BMC's Disaster Management Cell, the incident occurred at around 9.50 pm near Kabutarkhana, Jay Ambe Chowk, Bhuleshwar. Devotees were carrying the revered Ganesh idol, known as 'Bhuleshwar Cha Raja', when the idol reportedly became difficult to carry and lost balance.
Five People Injured In Accident During Idol Arrival Event
"five people were injured in the incident. One of them succumbed to his injuries, while the other two were rushed to GT Hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment," said BMC disaster cell.
The incident occurred during the devotees’ procession to welcome Lord Ganesha, and further details regarding the circumstances leading to the accident are awaited.
